Current Vacancies

As an Electrician/Electrical Fitter (Substations) Apprentice you will construct and maintain electrical infrastructure including switching and rectifying faults with plant and equipment, across both distribution and transmission networks from 22 to 500kV.

Predominately operating in a substation environment, you must be willing to work outdoors on ladders and elevated work
platforms in all weather conditions. This position will include time spent working away from home.

You are required to have the following to apply;

  • Manual Drivers licence
  • Either completed electrical VCAL or an electrical pre-apprenticeship
  • A good work ethic and ability to listen
  • Adapt to working away and being involved in a team environment
  • Construction Induction Card

Note: Employment will be subject to the candidate successfully completing a pre-employment medical examination (which includes
a hearing test, colour blindness and physical examination) as well as drug and alcohol testing. PowerNet Constructions will also carry out reference checks, as well as ‘Entitlement to Work’ in Australia checks

As a qualified Tester you will be responsible for maintaining, testing and operating electrical plant, protection and control equipment. You will become a member of a team that provides front line solutions in the installation, repair, and maintenance of High Voltage power system infrastructure.

You will be challenged by trouble shooting defective systems and performance testing of power network equipment. You will expand and use your knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment through to the latest electronic and computer-based systems to install, service and repair operating equipment for our customers.

You are required to have the following to apply;

As a qualifi ed electrician, you will carry out all functions associated with construction, commissioning, maintenance, understand and complete red line mark ups on complex drawings within the low voltage and high voltage sectors.

You are expected to meet the company’s customer service objectives of providing safe, reliable, timely and a quality installation within both sectors.

You are required to have the following to apply;

  • Electricians Licence A Grade
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or a recognised equivalent qualification
  • Previous experienced in construction and maintenance
  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • A good work ethic and the ability to listen
  • Adapt to working away and being involved in a team environment
